For vans, there are several types of universal windows, each with its own characteristics in terms of materials, style, and functionality. Why choose a Universal Window instead of a full-size OEM-style window *(Original Equipment Manufacturer)*¹?

Universal Windows are mainly used when the bed area is positioned higher than a standard seating height. For example, your bed may be elevated to create a garage-style storage space underneath. In this case, a smaller window is often better suited to the remaining wall space.

Their more compact size also provides greater privacy while still allowing natural light and ventilation into the vehicle.

Here are the different types of universal windows

Awning window

This awning window opens upward with the help of a crank. It uses a “sandwich-style” installation, with an interior trim ring screwed into place from inside the vehicle.

  • Advantages: Provides good ventilation, includes an integrated insect screen, and can remain partially open during light rain.

*It can be installed and opened on the passenger side, even with the sliding door.

Sliding windows


 


These windows slide open from the center. The CR Laurence model uses a “sandwich-style” installation, while the AM Auto models are bonded directly to the vehicle body.

  • Advantages: Provides good ventilation, includes an integrated insect screen, and can remain open while driving.

Double-paned acrylic windows

 

These double-panned windows open manually with a push held by its hydraulic cylinders. Sandwich type installation with an interior molding on a 1" wall.

  • Advantages : Multiple opening positions, integrated mosquito net and blind, in white or black, in its interior part, handle(s) with integrated latch(s), several sizes available
